Granite Can Go Around Corners!

Got a Wall or Post in Your Kitchen That Just Won’t Go Away?

Sometimes a wall just has to stay – you know, the pesky load-bearing kind that your contractor says he or she can’t move.

When that happens, your granite countertops can usually be cut to fit around the wall.

Here is one quick photo to show how a granite counter can be cut to fit around a load-bearing wall.

Sometimes you will need a seam in the counter – like when the post is in the middle of the island.

When we come to measure your kitchen for your estimate, we can tak about your options and what is most likely to look as good as you want it to.

Then later, when we come back to template (when all of the cabinets and appliances are ready), we will make sure we have the right shape for your new counters so they fit neatly around your wall or post.

Another Brilliant Example of a Custom-Shaped Counter

Check out this latest island (or more accurately: kitchen peninsula). This was cut and installed in a single piece, to fit around the wall on the right, to maximize the depth of the counter overhang, and to minimize seams.

Gorgeous, eh?
